Hello moms,

Need some help with finding a doctor/clinic that can make an Autism dx. I currently deal with Developmental Peds in Greenville, SC and have gotten the PPD-NOS dx, but a lot of times this is just the “catch all� dx when the doctor is hesitate to make the official dx.
I am convinced that my son has high functioning and has had issues from birth really. To look at him, he looks completely “normal� but he has a huge speech delay, even after 1 ½ years of ST. (He is 3 years old) odd behaviors, temper tantrums, OCD like behavior at times, missing social interaction, etc. So my point being is that he does not display some of the more common behaviors that Autistic kids display Ex: Hand flapping, etc., but of course if you are around him long enough anyone could see the “red flags� with him. So now that he has turned 3 Baby Net has dropped him, and will not pay for any therapies our insurance will not pay, still waiting on TEFRA approval, and the public school system evaluation at age 2 ¼ years said that he did on qualify for school, only speech at school twice a week.( I can’t just leave work twice a week and be gone 2 ½ -3 hours with drive time) His EI (who is great) sees how he could benefit from school and we are currently asking for another screening. I can not get him into the CARE team or CARE team at Developmental peds to get an appointment for 3-4 months. But he needs services NOW. He has not had services for 2 months now and I ca see him regressing. Does anyone know of a way (even outside Greenville area) where I could get him dx sooner?
