My son is 6 years old and has autism and adhd. His doctor has prescribed concerta for his adhd. He will not take his medication, he will hold it in his mouth and not swallow. He takes his other medications (tablet form also) fine but not the concerta. I have tried giving with food, liquids, whatever you can think of. No, concerta is extended release so it can not be chewed, or crushed, See if another medicine would work as well as concerta. Good luck, I'm having problems getting my two year old daughter with autism and dandy walker to take her supplements.
