Regression

My son is 10 years old and has been dx'ed with autism since the age of 4.

How come everytime he learns a new skill - he regresses in another area? Anyone deal with this?

Hello, My son is 3 and has autism. I deal with this also but in a different way. When he learns a new word, he forgets a old word. What I mean is he learns some new word, gets very excited about it and forgets a word he had known for a while, kinda like its no longer exciting to him or something. I asked his doctor about it and he said that it is common with autism for them to do that. He used to wave bye, now he doesnt because its not new to him anymore.
