Does anyone else's child itch like crazy?

My son (who will be diagnosed aspergers any day now) is 7 and he itches all the time now he has seasonal allergies and takes meds when necessary but he itches and itches. I've tried changing laundry detergent to fragrance free, no fabric softener, perfume and dye free everything, Bed sheets in covers for dust mites, not bathing as frequently so his skin doesn't dry out,.
It seems to be mostly his privates I know you'll say those worm eggs been there thought of that nope that's not it I'm flumoxed anyone else expereince this with their spectrum child and if so how did you solve it?

Re: Does anyone else's child itch like crazy?

I have no idea what to tell you, but I am a 29-year-old man with Asperger's and I itch all the time. I feel this cannot be related to Asperger's, but I suppose anything is possible. All my life I have been an "itchy" person and it's something I can't help. I am always scratching and yawning ... I yawn a lot as well. *sigh*

Oh and if it helps, not that people will care to hear this, but since you mentioned it, my 'man parts' itch a lot as well. I hate when this happens, because there is a girl who works in my office with me and I hate that I am always having to scratch there. I often play it off as though I'm just 'adjusting' though I actually do have to adjust a lot too. Not sure why. I itch all over, though; I will scratch it, then I am having to scratch another spot.

Re: Does anyone else's child itch like crazy?

Thanks for your reply guyfromla we actually went back to the allergist and it turns out he's allergic to apples, pears, and apple juice which he was eating/drinking all the time. He's been off the apples/juice for a week now and he seems to have calmed down in the itching department dramatically, however finding a substitute for apple juice is very hard as apple/pear juice seems to be the base juice for almost all juices out there these days.

Thanks again for replying

Re: Does anyone else's child itch like crazy?

Hmmm... I do need to go to an allergist to see about some things. I do know of some allergies I have but I suspect I have plenty more. I am allergic to some things in the air, but as far as food allergies I am allergic to bananas, watermelons, cucumbers, pecans, walnuts, etc. I even find that sometimes strawberries will cause a minor reaction so I suppose an allergist would ruin my day and tell me that I am allergic to those as well.

Anyway, glad you got some help and sorry, I didn't realize your post was 2 months old! These must not be very busy forums.
