Autism Help in Arkansas

My son has an appointment for testing in January. He had ArKids first and I wanted to make sure they would cover the expence since my husband's insurance will not. I called, expalined the situation and got nothing but some woman laughing, giving me no answers at all. I received a letter today stating that my son's ArKids case will be closed due to the fact that my husband makes too much money, despite the fact that he does not make any more money than he did a year ago.

Is there any thing that I can do or do I have to cancel his appointment and just forget it, hoping that everything will be ok? Do I Have to wait for the government to finally pass this health care bill? Maybe move to Canada?

Help?

Re: Autism Help in Arkansas

how old is your son and is he registered in a school program this year? i ask because the schools should have some responsibility for testing and diagnosis and then placement in an appropriate school program and/or getting services.

you could start by contacting the director of special education in the school district you live in and say you'd like to begin the intake process for a school program or services.
