I think my son who has Aspergers Syndrome (aged 25) may have catatonia. Though he doesn't show any physical symptoms his behaviour and mood have deteriorated markedly ever since he started on Olanzapine (anti psychotic medication) after developing bipolar syndrome at 19. Whereas he was quite a chatty and sociable child he has now become totally withdrawn, almost mute and impossible to engage with meaningfully. I am really worried and wonder if anyone else has experienced this with their autistic child as they became an adult.
