Smile Can't believe my son is starting college....

I cannot believe it is here...it is time...where did the time go...my son will start Art School in the fall and I am excited and nervous...I never stopped hoping or dreaming or fighting for his rights and his dreams...all of these kids are kind, special, caring, thoughtful, smart, giving...etc etc...

This I know is just another chapter. I am scared and nervous just like all the other chapter beginnings. I know he will be great and get to live his dream and passion of being a writer and director. I am thankful daily for the life I have with him~ through all the ups and downs this is where we are

A good place....

Re: Can't believe my son is starting college....

Dear Lucky Star,
Congratulations!
My daughter is also an Aspergian. She is about to start her third year at the University of Mary Washington. We are all so proud that she lives in the dorm and is making it on her own. Yes, we get phone calls and help her trouble shoot problems, and I visit every other week to touch base.
Please let us know how we can support you and your son.
Peggy

Re: Can't believe my son is starting college....

I was diagnosed with high functioning autism and I just finished my first year of a chemistry course in uni. My learning style is different to the way they teach in college so I didn't go to many lectures last year, I just read the books and used the internet to learn the concepts myself and did fairly well. I recommend you get your son to get his books now so he can give himself a head start. If hes like me hes obsessed with the subject he'll be learning anyway so studying isn't something he does cuz he has to, its something he likes doing.

A good place....
i m overintelligent.
i have been trained by other overintelligent people.
for writing and medical and environment protections.
and others.

I must say, it's not that simple. i know why this people have autism, aspergians.
i don't know if i can talk here ?
Some of them end up just unknown labours or even homeless or in mental house also.
only a few of them become famous writers.

In our society, it's quite forbiden to say to a patient that he makes a mistake.
Autism, aspergians people make a mistake.
they stay at home with their mother. or with their parents.
they stay at home watch TV.
They don't want to mix with the society.
They don't want to make friends with others people.
They don't dare to socialize. they don't go outside in the society every day.

Their Autism issue could easily be cured.
If they talk with others people, if they make friends with neighbours or school fellows, if they take distance from their parents, then this autism will reduce.
then step by step this afraidness of the society will reduce.
i insure you that. i m sure of that.
taking distance from the familly and knowing many peole in the society will cure them.

and they will find girls friends after.
One of the most dangerous thing on earth, it's to stay at home with your mother or your parents.
we must know people outside the familly.
we must leave the familly at 20 years old and become independant.
the one who stay too often with mother will have communications issues.

That what people overintelligent who like to help the humans taught me.

Dear Leopard,
Wow! What an amazing way to put it! You are an inspiration to others with Asperger Syndrome. You're absolutely right, that one of the most dangerous things is to stay home and not reach out to others.
May I share your thoughts with my Aspergian daughter?
Peggy

Re: Can't believe my son is starting college....

Thank you Leopard,

My daughter is 13, with Asperger's. She's recently begun to isolate at home since her only friend moved away in July. She's not wanting to do anything social.

I'll start pushing her...

Re: Can't believe my son is starting college....

I apologize, I didn't realize you were one affected by aspergers. I have a friend who also has it as well. He's a great person as i believe you have to be to have the courage to say and know that you need to make the effort to make your appearance to the world.
