Re: My Son

High Functioning Autism , the people who have it struggle making friends. They really like a speical topic of interest and want to talk about it all the time, and it is hard to get them to stop. They want to make friends but fo not know how . Their can be limited eye contact. They are functioning at a average to above average intelligence. They have started to talk early . And sometimes are described as "little professors" The biggest challenge for people like this is social functioning. You may want to look up and research Asperger's Syndrome. Their is a thread about this condition. The highest form of autism is called that. See if your child fits into that catorgory.

Re: My Son

If your son has trouble making friends or with social skills you may want to check with a psychotherapy practice in your area to see if they offer social skills groups. We are doing this with my son this fall.
