my son he is 30 month old and he is speaking almost 50 words some of them r clear and some unclear joining 2 words like ,mama milk. and although he repeat alot of words again and again but not much, .
he was born noramlly and have gag issue since bigening of life and he do have 3 or 4 recucrrent ear infection and he cant response on his name at 12 month but he do have good eye contect and he is social with peoples.
he did flap his arms and toe walking but all these things diappear at 2 years at 30 months some time i notice he move in circle but only 2 times in week but at this time he move his eyes at corner of lid . other thing r ok .
i have appoinment with specialist of autism . they said although they saw some traid like speech delay but picture is quite mix they said i have to admit child to day care and see progress in child ,
at the same time i have a trip to my home country for 2 months and he got alot of chance to mix up with his age group and other peoples so he turn out to be very friendly with them and play well with other and his vocablary increase alot and his socal skills and copping skill became much better . his response to his name is really improve alot . we r normally living alone he have n is watching o sibbling , before my trip he is watching cartoons to whole day,
his hearning test is done he had mild hearning loss , he had problem in understanding comands if tv is on or if 2 or 3 peoples r giving same command to him .
he cant say no or yes but if he dont want any thing he just move that thing away from hands . if he want some thing he cry and point and if i say u want this he ussually laugh.
with such big impovments in small period of time i just want to know is this look like autism or in spectrum ,
Since he's had ear infections, have you had him checked for glue-ear? I think the poor hearing is worse just after a cold with glue-ear, so it might not coincide with the standard hearing check?
At 2 1/5 your son is doing really well. He can talk good and can socialize , that is great. I do not see anything major pointing to autism . the toe walking and hand flapping stopped on it's own which is amazing. Usually when a child engages in those activites the behaviors either increase or stays the same for years, it just does not stop. Especially in a young child. A lot of time a young child will start talking normally then lose vocabulary, or not talk at all. Placing the child in a daycare setting will increase language and help the child interact with others. At this age most children do not actually play with each other but mirror each other. By three in a half the child is more interested in other chldren and wants to make friends. He still may have a slight hearing loss , that could , make it harder to communicate , but he is using words already , that is not typical of autism.
today i have an appoinment with autism dr .he saw all progress in behaviour and language and told me ,he is more toward language delay rather then autism but since he have some bahaviour in past so they want to keep eye on him every 6 month to see progress ,at the same time getting hearing aid for kid from ENT and see progress .and same time book for visual stimulation auditory test , i have no idea about this test ?
