I have always had problems with my immune system - allergy wise. I have severe asthma, ecsema and hay fever and allergy tests come up positive to damn well everything (grr!). My IgE counts have constantly been in the thousands no matter what my doctor and I do to try and get them into a more normal range.
I have recently been told I have antibodies against my Thyroid and this is worrying me! After reading a few posts about this sort of thing I have learned (I think!) that my levels aren't distressingly high but are abnormal all the same. These are my results:
My TSH is is a normal range but is lower than it has ever been in previous tests.
TSH: 1.7mU/L
Anti-Tg: 62
Anti-TPO: 46
Antinuclear Antibodies: Detected
Pattern: Homogeneous
Titre: 40
I'm not entirely sure what any of it means because my doctor went through it too quickly for me. All I got was that I have to be retested in three months and he then wants me to see an Endocrinologist.
If anyone has any advice or anything which could help me understand what these results mean that would be great! I have looked up the individual antibodies so I know what they are... to an extent!
ALSO - my main worry is that if I do in fact have an autoimmune disease, do I then have a higher chance of developing another one? My doctor said because I have ANA I have an increased chance of developing Type One Diabetes.........................?!
I'm quite worried - please help!
