Hi, sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis. I too have this disease and I wish her well getting it under control. I had / and continue at times to have right side pain, over the liver area that can radiate upwards of the shoulder, and in to my back as well. My specialist and other Dr's have discouraged the use of pain meds, although I have resorted to regular Advil products at times. The use of Tylenol (even regular strength) has been greatly discouraged, almost a warning to not use it. Hopefully she is on a treatment plan that will have the disease under control in the coming months. Heating pad / warmed up magic bag may give a little relief - I pretty much sleep with mine.
