Question Is Plaquenil very helpful in relieving pain?
Hello,

I've only had a diagnosis so far of undifferentiated connective tissue disease because I currently don't meet enough criteria for something more specific. The other possibility is early Sjogren's, but...my SSA/SSB were negative so no diagnosis for that.

Right now we're just trying to treat the symptoms of what appears to be autoimmune because of my consistently positive ANA (most recent was 1:2560) in combination with various symptoms, the most bothersome being chronic aches/pains. I've tried two prescription anti-inflammatories and four muscle relaxers, but none of them have made a difference. So now there is mention of Plaquenil, but I'm just wondering if it helps with the pain a lot? Thanks so much!

Hi. I to have the label unifferenciated connective tissue disorder, my rheumy thinks it's probably going to be .RA . I am on plaque nil for the last 2 years and it appears to have stopped the symptoms progressing. I have found no side effects from it and was told it is a very safe drug to be on.

Plaquenil has helped me a lot. You need to know that it can take a few months to really start working so don't expect instant results. I haven't had any side effects from it .
