Hi, still waiting for my Rheumy appointment for Sept. 25th. I haven't done an ANA test in a while but it was 1:2560 the last time. I have been treated for Thyroid, did not test positive for the antibody.
My pain originated in my calves, with daily cramping and felt like ice picks stabing them. This was SEVERE. Since taking Neurton 3 times a day and Soma 1 to 2 times some days none, just depends (and I do take Vit. D, Potassium, and multi, Glucosamine, Chondrotin, MSG, 5/500 Viacon for pain 2 times a day, low dose asprin, Diclofenac, Armor Thyroid.
I have what I would consider the worse tendonitis in wrist, elbow and shoulder. So bad, that cutting the arm actually sounds like a viable option.. okay maybe not.. but man it hurts beyond words. I can't sleep because it requires lying down and that affects the shoulder the most.
My tests are not screaming any particular ailment, but suspecting a connect tissue issue.
Any suggestions of meds that might help me.. please suggest. It seems forever before I get to see the specialist.
Calves started January 2012, shoulder/wrist/elbow started June 25th (yes, I keep a journal every day!) It is like the disease it attacking my tendons & muscles not joints.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Hi, I know how you are feeling I have a diagnosis of undifferenciated connective tissue disease which really means nothing definite diagnosed as yet. I also have fibro and osteoarthritis . After trying a lot of meds the one that is working well for me now is bu trans 10mg patches. They have made a big difference to the pain level, you put them on once a week they are slow release. Google them there is loads of info on them and it might be worth considering them or something similar.
Diclofenac doesn't work for every one with tendonitis. It didn't for me. I would call your GP to see if there is another anti-inflammatory you might try. I get tendonitis quite often and gentle heat often helps as well, although I believe that ice packs are generally recommended to help alleviate the swelling of the tendons themselves. Eating bananas can also help muscle cramping, believe it or not. The potassium in them helps. Braces on your wrist and elbow can sometimes help by resting the joints but you still want to gently stretch to keep mobility, with the consent and advise of your Dr. of course. Hope this helps some and wishing you the best.

Good luck
UCTD is a diagnosis in and of itself and can be treated. Many times it doesn't develop into one of the "classic" autoimmune diseases and can run a gentler course. I do hope that is what happens in your case, as it sounds like you have enough to deal with already.
I will mention it to the doctor. But, I doubt he would prescribe it. I think that is something a pain management doctor would do. After reading, it sounds like something that would work.
