| Autoimmune: Wandering Pain with Inflammation and Iridocyclitis
Hello,
Someone in my family is suffering of a disease, which we believe is an auto-immune disease.
We don't know how to treat it - except taking tons of anti-inflammatories, which have little positive effects and plenty of side-effects.
So I need help/advice...
The person I am talking about is an elderly female showing the following symptoms, having these illnesses:
-iridocyclitis to the eye: periodically the eye inflammates, becomes red, pupil doesn't dilate well... one eye has the pupil almost entirely blocked and doesn't dopen (it's stuck)... she has had this for about 4 years with the eyes
-strong eye pain, sensitivity to light, even TV
-wandering body pain in the arms and legs, shoulders and back: strong pain appears here and there and lasts for weeks, months... she has had this for about 1 year
-the pain first appears in the shoulder, then it kind of re-appeared in her palm, after which it went away (after 6-7 months) and now it re-appeared in the feet
-she has difficulties walking, both feet ache extremely and a toe is also swollen
-seems similar to joint inflammation, but it doesn't happen in the joints - she complains of pain between the muscles and the bone... not the bone, not the muscles, but in between
-feet get red around the area where pain is felt
..all these symptoms appear in the evening and get worse during the night
...generally they go diminish or go away until next morning
We have no idea what causes them. But there are periods of months when there is a pause and even periods of many months full of pain.
The body pain particularily worries me. As it appears here and there.
Has been to about a dozen doctors and except the iridocyclitis, they could not diagnose the "wandering body pain" which appears here and there in the body...
The body pain is basically a pain that comes together with swelling and keeps aching for months. Stronger in the evening - palm/feet very sensitive to touch, feet, especially ankles ache extremely after long walks and soft tissues around ankles have been red for months...
X-ray showed nothing in particular: nor in hand, not feet, shoulder etc...
Except some eyedrops for the eyes, she takes "Devil's Claw" tables - which I found good anti-inflammatory.
I would like some treatment advice and GOD bless you if you can help!
