i am still hanging in there. have been doing my physical therapy and pain meds for about 6 weeks. been about 6 weeks since my last epidural steriod injection. it did help me with the pain alot, but since i can only get 3 in 6 months (this is what the nurse told me,) i am not sure i should get another one so soon. she told me that it would help with the inflammation that is causing the disc and surrounding muscle tissue to press on a nerve that is causing pain in my left buttock. my L4, L5 and S1 are bulging bad and I am hoping that with time and patience my body will heal itself.
My physical therapist said the disc should reabsorb given time. i don't want to have surgery to suck out some of the disc or all of it. should i go ahead and get the esi shot? are there any pros and cons that any of you out there can share your experiences with me, thanks for being there. rr
