edema aggravating sciatica?

I suffer from sciatica. I was off work for a week on WSIB due to a fall which aggravated it. Recently I have noticed a bruising sensaton over my right knee. I doesn't look bruised but feels it. It's a raised area about 5"x5". It's getting worse, not better and refers up my leg guessed sacroilliac joint. The doc says it's edema and has given me some stretching exercises for it.

Has anyone experienced this pain? I dont think it is from my fall and I don't remember walloping it on anything. Right now I feel about 80 yrs old and I'm due back to work in 2 days. I'm going to go ahead with the stretches but query the diagnosis. I and my sciatica don't need this right now! Aaarrrgghhhh.

I thin I'll go see my physio and at least get some anti inflammatory relief.

Thanks for the vent and if anyone has any advice feel free...Tagger
