Opps! I did it again!
Ok. I injured my back during the summer before last by overdoing it at the gym. It was a long and painful healing process that took over a year. I had many diagnosises of myofascial pain, pinched nerve, and muscle tear during that time. Then i went off to college, still feeling pretty bad. At that point there was just pain no injury left. I went to a local doctor there who diagnosed me for scoliosis. He didnt say how bad or where he just said i had it though i had to bend over for him to find it. Anyway after that i discovered that my pain was largely thought related. I simply stopped thinking about it and messing with it and it just sort of disappeared! I started working out again and I could go all out. I worked out like 4 hrs every other day or more. Things were going well for about 2-3 months. Then i started to feel burned out. I kept my effort up but i seemed to get weaker in lifting and i kept getting repeated foot injuries preventing me from running.
One morning I woke up very early and went right to the gym. I skipped my warm up jog because of foot pain and went right for bench press. I did my max that day, the heaviest thus far, but i lifted to much with one arm and not enough with the other(one went up more). I felt good as i lay there afterwards but the pain imediatly hit as i sat up. It was in my right side between spine and scapula. I imediatly left knowing all to well the effects of continuing with an injury.
I followed standard RICE for dealing with it and kept off it for a few weeks. In that time it seemed to clear up. Then i started experiencing pain in my shoulders on both sides at equal frequencies but not at the same time. It felt like i kept pulling them in my sleep. I could only sleep confortably in one way from the last injury which was on my side but even that seems to bother it. It hurts usually 1 or 2 mornings per week but i have to start over each time it does. It has been about 5 weeks now and i am in no better shape. What should i do. Could this be a spine problem or just an effect of my injury. It isnt strong pain and it is localized in one spot on either side. I have no confortable sleeping positions and everyone seems worse than the last.
