I have had such pain and tightness with my very low back that I've not been able to walk for more than a few minutes at a time for a year and a half. I have been diagnosed with problems in the sacroiliac joint, and told to get injections in that area of the back. I do not know what type of specialist I need to seek out for this: is it an osteopath, an orthopedist, or something else? My spine is perfectly fine, it is the joint in the back that is the problem, and the injections will have to be done under flouroscope. Who should I seek out when searching for a specialist?

My Pain management doctor has been doing my injections(ESI's -Facet Blocks-upcoming Medial Branch Block)-but he also has a degree in anesthesiology. He also uses the flouresence-it makes the injection much more accurate from all that I have been reading. I am sorry to hear about your problems. I have been going through this back stuff for a while now and I am tired of it

Seriously though, make sure you are comfortable with your doctor-and i asked mine dozens of questions about number of prcedures he's performed, success rate, how easy will it be to get in touch with him if I needed him, etc. I do not want my back to be messed up worse than it is
