Question Facial numbness with back injury

I suffered a serious back injury in 2001. For about a year, I have been having facial numbness. Is this related to my injury? My doctors don't seem to have any answers for me, but my chiropractor thinks it may be related. What can I do and is this serious? Will it go away? I'm concerned and scared and would like some answers, please.
Thank you.
