Walking, and lots of it. Get some good shoes and hold your mid section tight while walking. Stair climbing is very good for the area as well. Just don't over do any of it, as we all know what happens then. Congrats on your successful outcome. My lower back has been completly free of problems since I picked it up, although I am now stuck to an incumbent bicycle due to other unrelated problems. Good Luck, Your obviously on the right track.
