Hey I recently noticed that my shoulder are at uneven heights. I also noticed that my left foot kinda points a little outward while i walk, while my right foot points straight. My neck hurts pretty much all the time and it feels really weak......I was wondering if there is anything i can do besides having surgery to correct this? What exactly is wrong with me anyway?
You are not alone...no person is symetrical and everyone's muscles develope differently depending on use. Regarding your shoulder height how drastic is it? I know my traps are different sizes slightly and that one of my feet points more outward than the other. I asked my physical therapist about this and he said that it depends on the hip flexor and a bunch of other muscles and joints. Just to ease your mind check out some other people's feet and legs. You'll notice most people have the same thing as you. If it continues to bug you it can't hurt to see your doctor. Good luck.
Chronic back pain for 6 years
Epidurals, PT, occasional relief
Hurt back severely during college football
Ruptured L5 S1 and nerve damage
Hemilaminectomy/Discectomy, medial facectomy on 2-20-03
Pain is getting better every week
Residual numbness and pain in foot, butt, calf
Rehabing at new PT and getting better
Still have numbness and occasional pain in leg
Eric Davis goes to the same PT as me! I'm in good hands!
Hey Thanks for your reply. I guess we're all just so used to picking out our own, uhm, imperfections and we don't even think that most other people are the same way. I was thinking maybe my back got out of alignment when I got into a car accident about 6 months ago on the interstate, but I probably just didn't notice it until then. What kind of doctor would you go to about your back? Just a regular doctor?
We are in the same boat here. One of my shoulders is much higher than the other. I do have scoliosis but I'm not sure that is the cause. If you are a female, see if your lower shoulder is the one you carry your purse on most of the time, I believe that may have something to do with it. My lower shoulder is the one I use to hold my purse on and the arm that I usually hold the kids with.
As far as what kind of doctor you need to go to, you can go to a primary care doctor and if he thinks you need a specialist I'm sure he will lead you in the right direction.
