Exclamation hip pain after a laminectomy??

Hi everyone,

I had a laminectomy 2 years ago. I am doing fine now except for bilateral hip pain. I am fine as long as I don't bend or sit too long. The worst pain comes after bending over. When I try to straighten up I can barely do it, I have so much pain in both of my hips. I never had this before surgery. My doctor is a jerk and would never tell me if something was wrong. I ended upwith two staph infections in my back after surgery and had to have a second surgery to clean out the wound, after begging him to do it. He waited so long that the staph had eaten a whole the size of a softball in my back! Then the wound had to heal from the inside out and I was attached to a machine 24 hours a day for 6 months before it healed. Then the surgeon had me on the wrong antibiotics for 9 days before he would listen to me or my home health nurse! So I never went back to him to be released from his care. Does anyone know what is causeing all of this pain? I did not have bone removed from my hip for the laminectomy, they used the "spiney processes" from the vertebra to make the bone paste for the fusion??? Please help!!!

Hi, my advice would be to find a new Dr ASAP, especially if you are not happy with your current doc.
These guys have our health in their hands basically, so you really need to find someone you have faith in and who you feel listens to you.
Sounds like you've really had a difficult time, and you need to be under a Drs care to keep an eye on it all.
