tempurpedic bed----is it possible???

I am just getting to the point where I can walk and stay up for a little while. I had an MRI yesterday to see what is going on, this is my second episode since Jan of this year. I have lumbar pain, severe, with radiation down both legs when it first started, now just a patch across my lower back. This all started after we bought a new bed, which I love, but it is the only thing that had changed. I know there may be no relationship to this but I do wonder....I would do anything not to suffer from this anymore. What do you take for unbearable pain??? Nothing seemed to work, flexeril, darvocet, etc. My mind was clouded with the pain still present. My next step is to try P.T. Is it better to walk and be up or rest? I am so sick of lying in bed. I am not a patient patient so to speak. When I am down, the house is a mess as my family tries but cannot keep up and I have no one really to take care of me. Back pain is awful.....sorry, just needed to vent. Good luck to everyone and I surely do have empathy for everyone!!

Re: tempurpedic bed----is it possible???

I'd have to say that it IS possible. I bought a top-of-the-line Beautyrest and within 6 months, not only ended up in the emergency room because I could not turn my head and had severe back spasms but also had to go to a Chiropractor (for the first time in my life....) for another 6 + months before I started putting 2 and 2 together.

Is there another bed in the house you could spend a few weeks on and see if your condition improves?

Re: tempurpedic bed----is it possible???

I actually just put an egg crate type top over the mattress to see if it makes a difference. I am SO comfortable in the tempurpedic but if this is the culprit, I will do ANYTHING to feel better, including buying a new bed. Glad this worked for you and believe me, it also took me months to even think about this being a possibility..... We'll just have to wait and see, my husband would be very upset as he LOVES the tempurpedic but oh well, he has never had pain like this.....thanks for your reply....
