Just wondering if anyone else here goes to Aquatic Fitness classes? My wife has been so helpful in looking up exericises for us to do now that I have been told I have 3 Lumbar Disc Protrusions (L3, L5, & S1). After doing alot of reading about this problem, I am determined to beat this. Surgery is not an option for me. Just my personal opinion. I can still do all my normal job duties and everything, but the pain is there enough to let me know it's there.
I have done aquatics with one of those belts that keeps you upright. Swimming would not be possible for me because I could not keep my spine stable enough. I have gotten a lot out of it, but be careful. If you are in a lot of back pain, especially sharp jab type pain, you may want to start aquatics with a PT. Then you can learn the "moves" that work the best for you, and which ones to avoid.
