Bigtime--Sitting puts more pressure on the spine than almost anything you can do (except leaning over the wrong way and picking up a heavy load). There are people here who literally can't sit at all. Some people are limited to a half hour or so. So you really have to be careful.
you've probably tried a lot of the different cushions. The one which is slanted with a cut out at the back (where your tailbone goes) is helpful for some people. Lumbar support pillows also help some people. Since sitting is so much a part of your living, it's a tough situation. If you can take more breaks and walk around that may also help some. If you see a doc, they'll probably want to do another MRI, which may be a good idea.
