Upper back pain/shoulder blade and tingling, need help!

I have been having upper back pain that is not constant. It can however last for several minutes and then dissapear. Then it starts again not always in the same spot. I also get tingling in my left shoulder blade as well as general pain in both off and on. This pain and discomfort is not affected by activity and can happen just while lying still. If I move in a certain direction it can even produce sum lower chest discomfort for a split second. My upper back is sore in spots when palpitated. It is sore around my shoulder blades around the muscle in that area and even sore around my spine. I can make all of the pain worse by stretching, etc. At first the pain and tingling was very brief and I was even worried about my heart but I have seen an internest and cardiologist, several ekgs, and a myoview cardiac study. I had these done because of constant chest tightness. I must add that I have had a lingering shoulder injury on one side and just a few months ago injured the other one too lifting weights. One side is getting better but no such luck with the other so I don't know if these are related. The pain, discomfort and tingling is lasting longer as time goes on. Any thoughts on this is very much appreciated.

Re: Upper back pain/shoulder blade and tingling, need help!

in my experience with neck injuries (c4-7)....tingling is def a sign of a nerve being touched or pinched. Don't freak out...most of the time, it's treatable with therapy and/or exercise. I would def consult an experienced neuro or orthopedic surgeon....they'll tell you what's best for you...and as always..use your best judgment and get a second opinion if needed.

hope this helps

John
