| One more drug to be concerned about
As many of us have seen, there is alot of talk that Celebrex and Bextra may have the same safety issues that Vioxx has. One drug that is not being mentioned is Mobic. Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra are drugs known as Cox -2 inhibitors. Mobic is a "partial" Cox - 2 inhibitor. The concern is that all drugs with this mechanism of action may inhibit a substance that helps the heart. If it is shown that all Cox2s do this, Mobic should be part of this.
If I was taking Mobic and also had heart problems, I would call my doctor to at least get his/her thoughts on it.
