I'll try again: Selective nerve block - can someone help me?

I posted b4 and didn't get any responses so here I go again...I am sch. for one of these in a week. I have had two epi.'s and had no relief - only MORE pain. What can I expect in the way of pain during procedure and after?

Thanks,

Trina

Hi, I had 3 of these nerve blocks on 3 levels, they helped for alittle while but not long my doc told me the more inflamation you have the percentage goes down on this helping. They also use this procedure to find where your pain is coming from, how many levels are you having done?

Re: I'll try again: Selective nerve block - can someone help me?

I have had many types of injections over the past few years,ESIs, stellate and trigger point. Some were painful, and some were not, it just depends on the individual. The ESIs I had in my C spine area hurt like hell, but the trigger points and the ESIs I had for my lower back and leg pain really didn't hurt that much at all.And the stellate inj, which is given into the front of the neck was mildly painful.I hope this helps.Marcia

Smile Re: I'll try again: Selective nerve block - can someone help me?

Thank you!

I do not know the "levels" my Dr. is not very informative. I just returned from my *consultation* w/ a local chriropractor and she strongly recommends that I find out exactly where he will do the block and if it is "permanent" or temporary. I have been going through these different shots/meds for so long that the chiro. seems to think that a referral to a neuro.surgeon is what I need now.

I am at my wits end because I don't know where to go for relief-argh!

Thanks for letting me vent! Trina
