Deep, internal "itching" back pains?

Am I crazy or has anyone else experienced this? Its almost like I "itch" internally in my back. Its very uncomfortable pain and I have no idea what it is. I have stenosis but have never heard anyone else say they have this internal "itch". Anyone?

Re: Deep, internal "itching" back pains?

its just another wonderful sensation brought to you via nerve damage/compression.i have central pain syndrome in my left arm, up around the back of the armpit and over both shoulder blades.Along with the intense stinging, burning sensations I also get this absolutely horrid itching mostly right under the left shoulder blade area.It of course just has to be in like the most unreachable spot on my body. But i know exactly what it is that you are feeling.it is kind of deep into the tissues but it is also on the surface in some way,but if you manage to scratch it, it just dosen't seem to go deep enough. The only way I have found to try and satisfy this torture is by getting just the right spot while leaning against the wall with a tennis ball between the nasty spot and the wall and just grind my back into it.It dosen't completely take it away in most cases but it at least feels like i am reaching that inner spot a little bit.I have found lidocaine patches to also be somewhat effective on a good day.I feel your "itch".good luck.Marcia
