You will be fine! There are so many people on this board who have had that surgery and are doing wonderful! I sometimes wonder if I made the wrong decision in having the surgery I had instead of the fusion........ (microdisectomy for laminectomy L4-S1)
good luck to you! I hope that soon I will have a date to share! I woke up this am and couldn't stand up-shooting pain in my back it really sucked. I hurt really really bad and am praying that soon, this will be taken care of. I will be thinking about you and hoping for a fast and good recovery!
GOOD LUCK!! There are quite a few of us on here that have upcoming fusions. Mine will be in two weeks at L4 L5. I'm also very anxious and scared. I've been dealing with this pain and immobility for three years. Three years too long. I hope it all goes smoothly for ya and I'm sure we'll meet up in November!!
Good Luck Chris! I had L-4/L-5 Fusion way back in Oct. "01" & am still doing GREAT!! Best of luck to you & all on the Board!!
Life can be better after surgery!
Gotta go rake some leaves........Later Gang!!
I also have a date... for Oct. 26. And I have been quite anxious and worried. I got papers to sign yesterday from one of my surgeons and it really stressed me out. Then last night I got an email from a friend who has advanced ovarian cancer and is going through chemo and all the side effects. She ended her email with a scripture which really spoke to me and my fears. I hope it's okay to share it on this message board... maybe it will give comfort to someone else.
Philippians 4:6-7: "Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."
