Is fusion better for DDD or ADR

Hi, well I have a few more questions to ask about fusion, my otho had mentioned awhile back that fusion did not do alot for DDD now I know he may have been trying to sell me on the ADRs but is this actually true? He also told me [if he did the 3 levels] that I would not be able to return back to work, I work in management in fast food, maybe he said this because of my carrer choice? I have met people who work a full time job after fusion so I dont understand "the not being able to work".

I have read about zingers after surgery, what is that?????

Thank you for any responses

Re: Is fusion better for DDD or ADR

I have no idea, but I would like to know as well. I am looking into possibly three levels too and my dr knows I am trying to get into LPN School, and he hasn't told me I can't if I have the surgery. Now, as a CNA I can't, but LPNs don't always have to do pt care. I don't see how that would be accurate. If he is trying to sell you on it, maybe he will get a lot of money out of it? Does he seem like that kind of dr? Mine hasn't even talked about ADR. I have DDD from L4-S1 and a bulge at C5-6 with spondy and a pinched nerve. Now, I know adrs for two levels haven't been approved, but they have been for the neck, and mind hasn't mentioned it.

Re: Is fusion better for DDD or ADR

I have seen people refer to zingers, but I don't know exactly what they are. I get a pain that feels like someone is stabbing me in the butt with a hot poker. Aside from the burning, sensitive skin, aching, shooting and whatever else pains.

The way I see 'zingers' - they are the jolts of pain down your leg that make you jump out of your skin..........
