a synovial cyst usally requires surgery depending on your condition. if pain ,numbness, and weakness is present.if you have progressive weakness, pain,or numbness than you require surgery. if mild than it might be cotrolled till it heals. medication does not control this cyst. if it doesnt interfere with your life style than surgery isnt done. what has you doc said about this? has he gave you any option or answers to what is to be done? also if you go to you yahoo, google or websearch type in this name synovial cyst and you can get answers to you questions. also its good do be educated on your problem so you can better understand what should and should not do. i hope this helps
