It has been four weeks today since my second discectomy. I'm the one who had L5S1 laminectomy/discectomy on October 18 and then reherniated a few weeks later.
When I woke up from the first one I still had the major leg pain etc. This time when I woke up in recovery my leg didn't hurt.
I am supposed to take things very slowly and not over-do anything. At this point the Dr. said there is on a bit of hard stuff left of my disc, therefore I have some issues with feeling like I don't have shock absorber. So, the back pain isn't completly gone; in fact I'm still relying on Vicodin most of the time. Even given that I still feel like I'm better than I was before both surgeries.
My brain feels like mush from two bouts of anesthisia and all the pain meds, but I am optimisitc. My Dr. hopes I can get the ADR in the coming year.
I'm sending out all my good thoughts for everyone to find relief from their pain.
Hi there,
Well I'm happy to heat that you seem to be doing well, considering. But I also wanted to say good luck and I hope you get a surgery date soon. Take care and don't over do it. Kristy.
