Hi,

I have a foramentomy (sp) in March of 2004. About 3 months ago I started feeling better, back to the normal things I enjoyed doing.
Last monday while walking in to work I slipped and my feet came up from under me and I landed hard on my back. Since then my back has been so sore. I had to go back to the doctor's today and she put me on soma and demerol. I can't sit or stand for a long period of time and after about 2-3 hours I have to lay back down. My doctor ordered exrays today and I won't get the results for a week or so.

The last check up w/ my neurosurgeon that if I have any more problems then he would have to do a fusion on level 4 and 5 and I don't want to have one done.

I am just so damn frustrated....I was feeling so good and now back to these damn pills to take the pain away.

Has anyone had a fall and recovered after surgery?

Hi there,
I haven't yet had my surgery. However, I can sort of relate. I was walking my two puppies a couple of weeks ago and I slipped on the ice and fell. I've been quite sore ever since. Maybe you should look into getting some physiotherapy. I hope you haven't done too much damage. Let me know once you get your x-rays back. Take care of yourself and be carefull. Kristy.

I am recovering from two level a and p fusion, and I'd say I am doing fairly well. I don't know what my long term prognosis is, but I am hoping to be w/o narcotics when it is all said and done. I just want to be able to enjoy life more than the last eight months has let me. For me, all this hit WHAM! I was fine one day and then I went to to work for the last time. Man, wish I had something great to tell you, I just don't know yet!
