i was rearended in a car accident 6 months ago.
i went to see a few doctors( primary, neuro , neurosurgeon and orto suregon) all of which said it takes time. i have multiple buldges and heriations in my cervical and thoraic area. i tried physical therapy after the accident but didnt do anything.
i get burning in arms and buzzing/vibrations in legs and arms and pain in back. its very difficult to lift things. prior to accident i was at gym and could bench 225. I have been told its resltless leg syndrome in addition to back problems.
1- i need a doctor in ny that i can put hope in. i also want to do physical therapy again but know that quality is different at different facilities.i live in brooklyn but would be more than happy to go into nyc.
2 can anyone recommend a doctor, neuro, neurosurgeon or othopedic that they have had success with. also who manages your back, is it a painmanagement doctor, a neuro or someone else.
Dr. Boachie Adjei, He's EXCELLENT. I traveled 6 hours to see him.
thank you . is he a ortho surgeon or neuro and what has he done for you. he background seems wonderful
since he is a surgeon do you have anyone who cooridnates normal stuff like phs therapy and meds. I could definately use someone since my neuro is who i have doing it but it hard to get her outside of office visits.

would love to go to him but i saw his associate dr casden(heard amazing things about him but no bedside manner) after 3 months of accident. my mistake was that i started feeling better for a few days at that time i went to see him and probably should have canceled appointment. would be hard to go to him now.
do you see the painmanagement people there? I could definately use someone since my neuro is who i have doing it but it hard to get her outside of office visits.

I saw Dr. Alvin Antony at Hospital for special surgery...i also live in brooklyn. He's recommended bracing -physical therapy and pain control as treatment.
I toured the physical therapy floor and it looked really nice and the patients looked happy.
I swear I was freaking out because after spending so much time in Brooklyn I forgot that human beings were capable of so much kindness. It was such a positive experience...you should call up and make an appoinment (it takes awhile but it is defintely worth it)
They also have thier own guys come out and pick you up and drop you off for every scheduled appointment (not acessaride) plus they reimburse you for carfare.
You can't really request any one doctor...but they are all very caring and knowlegeable.
the rehab clinic's number is [ please carefully review the posting rules - no telephone numbers - post doctors by name, city and state only ]
I sure hope you can find a place that can help you ...take care

I don't. I just saw him for a 2nd opinion and really was impressed with him and the way they run the office. My doc is in Jersey, but before I went ahead with the ADR, I wanted to take to Bitan because he is the most experienced in the area. He has done 150 ADR's.
I know what you mean about the bedside manner of these docs. Most of the good surgeons have horrible bedside manner because they are so busy. That doesn't bother me so much.
