Thorasic Help!

I have been reading this website for months now and I have finally decided to ask for help. I currently have T 6-7 herniated disc and T 11-12 buldging disc. I just found out Monday that T11-12 (MRI reading) Disc protrusion with nerve impingement. I also have L3-4, 5-S1 buldging disc. I have been going to pain management dr since Feburary 2004. I have got the series of 3 epidural shots and numerous shots in my SI joints. 1/1/05 I woke up screaming becuz my right leg was burning like fire. This is why I had a mri on 1/17/05. The mri showed nothing as far as the burning in my right leg. The problems that the mri did show were all on the left. My dr said we will try a couple epidurals and see how that goes. Now I have been going there for almost a year becuz of back pain in my left side. Is it normal that the dr suggests to do nothing about a pinched nerve? As far as the burning in my leg she has no idea what is causing that. Has anybody been thru this or is going thru this at this time? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My Meds: Duragesic 50mg, MSIR 30 mg, Valium, Cymbalta.

Thanks!

Re: Thorasic Help!

I agree with Betty that an EMG would be a possiblity. It will show if you have any nerve impingement on the right side. An MRI is very useful but they do not show everything and I know from experience that doctors do miss things on an mri. The first surgeon I went to followed what the radiologist said and they were both wrong. Good Luck!

Re: Thorasic Help!

A big thanks to everyone who took the time to read my problems and offered suggestions. I did have a emg about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I found from that that I have neuropathy in my legs & feet. So I guess I should ask for a EMG for my back? I am definitely going for a second opinion. I see that I am not alone.
Good luck to you all and I hope someday we can all find answers we are looking for.
