Back Pain Question

I had a lamisectomy of the L4/L5 in 2001 , I recently re-injured it. The doctor gave my indomethacine *sp* and I am doing alot better , my only issue and its my question. I do things and then I have an aching in my calf later on , mostly at nite. Is this normal for healing , is it the nerve regenerating , or is this something I should be concerned with?

Re: Back Pain Question

does the ache feel like a spasm of the calf muscle, or does it go deeper and feel different? If it feels like a spasm or charlie horse, then you may be low on Potassium. Also, when you have an injury to the back, we can walk different to compensate and thus causing more pain or fatigue to other body parts. that is just a thought-could be leg pain due to the back, but from what you are describing, it doesn't sound like your typical back caused leg pain. BUT, only you can know that. I would try stretching that muscle group and take some motrin maybe. See if that helps. If not, call your doc and let them know.
Best wishes to you!

Re: Back Pain Question

you can take a bath too and ice the area as well, even massage it and see if any of this helps. I hope you get some relief! When my back pain started to get bad, my left leg calf muscle was spasming all the time. It eventually went away, but it was annoying.
