Important Dr Info

If everyone remembers I had my microD 9-27-04. 3 weeks ago I started with tailbone pain and a pain in the right butt as well as behind my knee. I have went to my Dr like 3 times and he insisted that is was normal. Everytime I went he advised me I was just healing long story short with the pain I did not believe it so I went to a new DR and he gave me a MRI and low and behold I have re-hurniated my back the pain is not bad at all so a second surgery is not a option as of yet I will follow a strict physical theraly as well as take the shots hey anyone have any good results from the pain shots?
basically I learned from this if you feel something is wrong and that your DR isnot taking the proper amount of time on you go with your instinct always mine was to see another Dr and it paid off. Im a little depressed of the whole situation but I can walk with a small amount of pain so why complain im only 25 and have a whole life ahead of me so if this is the worst of my problems so be it ......... talk to you guys soon im going to another Dr tomorow to see what he thinks ill keep it posted......

Re: New Ortho Spine Spec

I am glad to see that you are approaching this little setback with such a positive attitude. I really hope that you are quickly back onto the road to a full recovery. I live with the constant fear of reherniating my disk. Good luck and keep us posted!

Chrispinco

Got a question: what is your is weight and fitness level? These are variables that will affect your back and which you can control. Not to pry, but if you pack a lot of extra padding on the front, its going to pull on the those back muscles. Weight and fitness are not the only criteria, and I appreciate that in spite of being trim and fit, you can develop a herniated disk. Posture also plays a role, how you sit or slouch when you sit, over time, will take its toll on your back. At 25, you may be able to take steps to correct your posture, if that's a factor in your woes. If you do embark on an exercise regime, don't make the mistake I made and concentrate on your abdominals to the exclusion of your back muscles. From what I've heard and read, those back extension muscles are the key to a stable back and protection of those disks.

Regards, Stan

Re: New Ortho Spine Spec

I have went to the 3rd Dr now he by far seems to be the best. He advised me after surgery not to go by the mri because they are not a 100% accurate so he is sending me for a ct scan so he can see the nerves as well as a better picture of the area. I will keep posted to inform all of you whats going on to what to expect.
