Question Bulging Disc and Bone Spurs

Hello,
I am new at this, But I wondering if I could get some information on how they fix a bulging disc and bone spurs in your neck? I am going to a nero surgeon next month for this problem. I guess I just want some heads up... Thanks

Re: Bulging Disc and Bone Spurs

Hi. Welcome to the boards.....I am so sorry you have to be here. To answer your question, a lot more information is needed. Have you had an MRI? Do you have any nerves being pinched, loss of strength in the arms or hands, traveling pain?
There are many ways to approach a bulging disc, depending on the severity and the symptoms you are having. Physical therapy, steroid injections, pain management are all options before surgery is done. Be sure to always get a second opinion before having any surgery, too.
I know how hard it is to wait to get answers; I hope yours will be good ones.

Carol

Re: Bulging Disc and Bone Spurs

Hi there,
I would suggest having a consultation with a physiotherapist. You may be able to get some relief from therapy and also learn more about your diagnosis in the proccess. Good luck. Kristy.

Re: Bulging Disc and Bone Spurs

Thanks to all...
Here is my case...
I had a MRI after being treated by a bone cracker for about 2 months.
When the pain in my left shoulder blade got so bad I had the MRI.
The report shows one bulging disc between C3&4 with a bone spur and other bone spurs down around C6&7. I have numbness and pain from my left shoulder down to my finger tips. I have an appointment on 2-16-05 with a nero.
I am now on extra strength vicodin. Not something to play with!!!
Well that is my short story.
Thanks for everyones help
