Hypermobile spine

My physical therapist recently told me that I have hypermobility in my spine. He was working on my neck at that time, so I don't know if it is just the c-spine or if it the whole back.
I was trying to explain it to my husband and how I need to work hard to keep my muscles strong, but I don't think I explained it well enough. Anyone have any easy way of explaining it?
Thanks!
