Ok, went to the surgeon for my MRI reading and preop visit and things were better than I expected. He said that although there were many bulges and protrusions "abutting" the cord, none were indenting the cord or in fear of indenting the cord, he said he didn't see anything that looked as though it needed surgical attn, and that after my L5-S1 posterior decompression fusion, that I would just have to committ to some serious , Physical Therapy about 4 times a week, and that I would probably hate him, but it had to be done, and that was the only way to strenghten those muscles, and that would take away alot of the weakness and painfullness I feel in my neck and thoracic.
On another note, the crying spells.....and depression, he sent me to my family doctor for that, and she put me on Cymbalta? I guess its fairly new, and also good for pain. And upped my Topamax from 50mg a day to 100mg a day.
So...we'll see how that goes.
Anyone have any adverse effects on Cymbalta? Topamax has seemed great for me, I have dropped about 23 lbs so far on it.
Ya! Surgery is still the 17th....too soon,. but too far too, I'm ready to get this over with and on the road to recovery.

oh and thanks for all the prayers...I was a wreck the other day!
