Back from Surgery

Hey gang,

Surgery was 2/1 and I had a PLIF with cages and BMP on L4-L5. Surgery went well, pain was about what I expected in the hospital. This is the first time I have felt good enough to sit down at the computer for a minute or two. Also, my wife works at home on the computer, so I have to use it when she is on a break

Pain once I got home has been pretty much managable, though I am as uncomfortable as hell. I just can't get comfortable !!!

I will be dropping by more and more as I can get in and sit. As some more time passes, I will be posting on the surgery success post. I just know I will.

Thanks to everyones prayers prior to surgery.....I really appreciate everyones kind words.

~Jim

Re: Back from Surgery

HIya Jim! Glad to see you on the other side and doing well. The uncomfortable part is normal. I felt like I was laying on a garden hose for a couple weeks. Just do everything exactly as they told you to. When you have questions, we're here to help.
Measure progress in small bits. You'll get there!

Re: Back from Surgery

Jim, welcome back! I'm glad everything went well. Remember to take it slow and pace yourself. The uncomfortable feeling will pass- it takes a little while, but it will happen! Keep us posted on your recovery!

Re: Back from Surgery

take good care of yourself you will continue to be in our good thoughts and prayers;

things to remember, sore throat normal not wanting to eat well at first normal, can't sleep normal, hard to bend, or to pick up things normal

and your first time in the tub for a shower will be a struggle take it very slow,

this will be an emotional up and down and possibly a point where you get angry at yourself for things you cannot do right now all that is normal......

one day at a time and right now one moment at a time..............
