Hi, it's hard to say. It could be that you are just bruised, and sore, and that will take a few days to get over. Try a heating pad, and if it gets worse, then maybe you should see the doctor. Hope you get to feeling better.
I agree, rest for a couple days, sit on an inflatable donut ($5.00 at the drug store) and if it doesn't get any better, get an X-Ray.
When you said it hurts to "break Wind" I can only think of my Mom who was bucked off a horse and broke her tailbone, it is the softest bone in the back,
Good Luck to you and God Bless,
The nerve could be inflamed. There's a nerve that runs back there, in addition to the sciatic nerve. I'm 20 weeks post-op and I still get pain twinges when I get gas. So, I'm inclinded to think anti-inflams and ice packs will help more than anything right now... but again.. if not gone in a few weeks, get to the doctor.
I injured my lower back by bending over washing my dogs. I was in so much pain that I couldn't hardly walk. I went to my Dr who gave me a referral for Physical Therapy I also received an x-ray (which didn't show anything).
I am a student in school for Massage Therapy right now, I decided to spend my money on massage appointments rather than on PT appointments. It took me about 2 months to fully recover. I would suggest that you contact a massage therapist and see what assistance you can get from them. If your discomfort persists, go see your Dr but keep up with the massage. Like I said, it took me about 2 months for full recovery.
I agree with the advise to use ice, sit on a "donut" pillow and avoid direct pressure on the area, use something like advil for pain relief. If you don't feel any improvement by Monday, give your dr. a call.
Good luck, and please let us know how you are doing.
