When I had my MRI done about 8 weeks ago they said I had a disc protrusion and it was pinching my nerve on both sides. I was having severe pain at that time. I only have pain when I move certain ways now. Or if I lay on my back. If the nerve is pinched wouldn't it hurt all of the time? Wouldn't I have pain down my legs if the nerve was pinched? I do not have leg pain. It's all in my back. I can tell I do have muscle weakness in my left leg. That could be from favoring my right leg. I have more pain on the left side of my back. I find I am avoiding standing on my left leg. I try not to do that but I am starting to do it without realizing it then I catch myself doing it. Maybe my nerve is just pinched a little bit and it is sending the pain signals to my back but not all the way down my leg.
i had some leg pain but mostly a fuzzy tingly feeling and when driveing my foot bothered me pressing the accel,i have after surgery had a great deal of nerve pain and i also developed mild drop foot, walking is a real pain now,so for me the most noticed thing was a limp and weakness in my right lower leg.
I have a damaged S1 nerve and none of my MRI's showed this nerve beeing pinched so it went on for yrs and now the damage is permanant as for hurting all the time no it didn't now it does though. You might ask about having a EMG done since you are having weakness in the legs, I wish I wouls have had the knowledge to asked yrs ago before this got so far gone.
Good luck, Linda
