Question saddle anesthesia

I am in my 20's. I have central protrusion at L5-S1. No surgery, yet.
I have saddle anesthesia and occational leg numbness.
My big worry is the saddle anesthesia. It varies in degrees from mild to very severe. The more numb it is, the smaller my "special purpose" gets, like being in a cold pool. I also can not flex some muscles in that area.

I have read many documents saying that this is not unheard of, but I would like a little reassurance that I am on the right track.

Does anyone else have similar stuff going on? This sucks!
