Question Do arch supports help disc problems? Please help

Hello all-

I'm a student who has developed a L5 S1 herniation with sciatica and am having surgery this summer. I was wondering if arch supports such as those walkfit insoles and the Good Feet ones help back pain at all. They claim they do but I don't trust them. Has anyone tried this or known someone who has? I would really appreciate the help.

Thanks!

Jenn

Re: Do arch supports help disc problems? Please help

I started using them after my last fusion and used them in my Nikes.

Dr suggested them - said I needed good walking shoes & support. I still use them now, and it seems that my pain gets much higher when I wear other shoes. Guess it's all in how they support you ~

They do help my pain.
