| Epidural Adhesiolysis vs. Sacral Foraminectomy?
Hi, I have a Right S3 radiculopathy apparently caused by scarring (epidural fibrosis) in my sacrum, with the most recent language used stating 'filling defects consistent with epidural fibrosis and right S2-3 nerve root sleeve entrapment was (sic) noted at the right S2-3 foramen.'
I have received a number of conflicting suggestions, including a foramenectomy (sp?) of the related area of my sacrum, but am unclear on what complications or prospects such a procedure entails. I have read of something called epidural adhesiolysis (often associated with the name of Dr. Gabor Racz), and wonder if anyone here has experience with it.
My symptoms are loss of nerve function (numbness, loss of autonomic function) rather than pain, and the cause is a lifting trauma that caused acute focal pain in my sacrum 2 years ago.
Thoughts appreciated.
