testosterone level
 

:wave: Hello I am new to this so forgive the mistakes. I was wondering if anyone out there has had a drop in their testerone level because of chronic pain or the medication they are on. I am going to a gland specialist for this and he did all the tests.(cat scan, mri.) All he found was a cerebral venus angioma. I went to two nerosurgeons who said I was born with it and don't worry about it. So I go back to my gland specialist and asked him my testosterone level dropped and he said it could be the hydrocodone I take. My pain management doc said that he saw a study that said 10% of all males who are in chronic pain have a drop in their testosterone level. I have had a lumbar lamy L5-S1, disctectomy L5-S1 because of reherniation and a fusion with hardware L5-S1 plus DDD, stenosis, bone spurs and mega scar tissue. Any help would be appreciated. :bouncing: TINCAN

Well, I am female and thus haven't had that problem, lol. But I wanted to say Hi and welcome you to the forum

I have a friend who has had a drop in his testosterone levels after being on opioids for quite some time. I believe he is receiving some sort of therapy (meds) for it.

andro-gel...you apply it to your sholders once a day. within one week you will notice a huge difference in your mood and you will have great energy. it's worth a try, not any downside that i know of......

no help sorry im just wondering ive been on tramadol for 12 months and co-dydramol 12 months b4 that so i have been on opiods 2 years whats is the feelings you have due to testostorone being low

Hello :wave: The main thing that I noticed about low testosterone was believe it or not terrible hot flashes. I will never make fun of or gripe at my wife when she has them again because they are terrible. I do believe that my low testosterone was due to the methodone my pm doc had me on for awhile. Hey Tincan!! I have no clue, but me and you had the same surgery a lamy and disktectomy.. :bouncing: How long did it take you to sleep on u back and how long did it take for that sworeness do leave the where the incision is? Glad to have you aboard.. TracyAutumn... :bouncing:

Hello Tracy :wave: I am sorry that you are having trouble sleeping on your back. I did not have a problem sleeping on my back. As for the tenderness and soreness, my back has always been sore and tender, especially right at the bottom right where the two indentions are on both sides of my incision. My tailbone or whatever they call it is very sore too. I have had two rounds of caudil blocks in the past two years and they do not do anything for me anymore. My pm doc says I might have to think about going back to my orth spine specialist to see if I need to get my hardware taken out because I am in so much pain :eek: .I don't know if I want to do that because it will only produce more scar tissue. I've Had The Same Surgery As You And Are On About The Same Meds. (by The Way, I'm Male) And Have Suffered Some Side Effects. If You Are Talking About Interest Loss In Sex I'm In The Same Boat. The Pain And Meds. I'm Sure Are The Reason. But With Stimulation From My Great And Beautiful Wife, She Can Still Make The Boat Float!! Be Patient.
