| Re: Oxycontin
I take 20 Mg in the AM and 20 Mg in the PM. I alternate between Percocet 10/325 and Dilaudid 4mg for Breakthrough Pain. I try to find the lowest amount that works for me. I've had three surgeries in the last 11 months so I've been in some pain. I've been noticing that I've been using more Percocet lately so I may talk with the Dr about uping the OxyContin Dosage to cut down on the BT meds. As far as the other part of your question about other Long acting meds: There is whats called the Duragesic Patch (Fentanyl). This is a patch that you wear and seems to work pretty good from what I've read about it. Fentanyl is also much stronger than Morphine. There is MS Contin. This is Morphine that is time-released, like OxyContin. Dilaudid just recently released a new patch that is time released. Again, Dilaudid is much stronger than Morphine. A lot of people seem to get relief from Methadone. If you go to the Pain Management Board you will find a ton of information about the stuff I just talked about about.
