Please help me understand this
Hi all, I was hoping someone here might be able to help me understand this xray report. I went to the doctor for a pinched nerve and was asked if I'd been in an accident. An ACCIDENT! of course not I said, why? They said I had some problems that would probably require surgery one day and that I shouldn't play any sports and should be careful. Naturally I freaked but with all my question and all their answers, I still am dumb founded. Here are my results:
reversal of the normal lordosis w/slight kyphotic angulation in the upper cervical spine.
anterior subluxation of C2 on C3 of about 3 mm.
loss of height of C5 and C6 vertebral bodies, on a chronic basis, w/significant spondylosis between C3 and C7 w/some compromise of the neural foramen.
Flexion and extension lateral views show possibly 1 mm. of instability, but no more.
Does this look bad and will it worsen over time? I have some back pain and neck pain at times but nothing aspirin doesn't take care of... at this point anyway.
Thank you for any help in understanding this. Jackie
